Restoration is defined in the Parks Canada Standards and Guidelines for the conservation of Historic Places in Canada as the “revealing, recovering or representing the state of a historic place or of an individual component, as it appeared at a particular period in its history, as accurately as possible, while protecting its heritage value”.
Consultation for the determination of the appropriate period in history for the restoration is a key component for our team. Our Conservation projects begin with a complete and thorough understanding of the Heritage Value associated with each project to help facilitate decision making for the restoration implementation.
